Panama is the 119th world economy in terms of exports. These exports reached a value of $ 3.06 billion during 2017, and 24.8 billion in terms of imports.
Panama’s main export is oil, accounting for 30% of total exports. It is closely followed by the export of food products such as banans or fish and, to a lesser extent, gold.
Nearly 40% of Panama’s exports end up in Latin American countries, such as Ecuador (28%) or Paraguay (3%). The rest is distributed among the United States, the Netherlands, and other Euro-Asian countries.
